There will be a great line up of events to enjoy in Walcha this weekend with the inaugural Bobby Jack’s Festival and Walcha Farmers’ Market.

The weekend starts at 8.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday, April 21, with the Walcha Farmers Market at McHattan Park, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast BBQ cooked by Rotary. There will be live music, fresh produce, espresso coffee, plants, pastries, honey, olives, baked goods, skin products and more! The kids will be able to get creative with Mother’s Day card decorating and colouring-in.
From 11am to 11pm the inaugural Bobby Jack’s Festival will come to life at the Walcha Showground. “This is an exciting new original music and arts festival for all ages, with delicious food, dancing, music, workshops, bar, stalls and free entertainment for children,” organising committee member Stef Cook said.
“Tickets are available online or at the gate. Only $15 for students/concession, $20 for adults, $40 for a family and under 12’s are free.
“Onsite camping is available for Friday and/or Saturday night for an extra fee,” she said.
The main stage includes a terrific line up of live music as well as performances by The Dunghutti Dancers and Belly Dance Earth & Sky. The Get Out of Your Garage stage has a brilliant variety of emerging artists.
The bar will be open and a variety of delicious food will be available including Buddha Belly Kitchen, Mak’s Turkish Gozleme and Ultimate BBQ. Nundle’s Picket Fence Produce will be running a café style stall in the Belly dancing tent. A sculptural bonfire will be lit at dusk.
Stalls include jewellery, screen printed t-shirts, puppets, leather handbags, dream catchers, meditation pillows, aura photography and aboriginal art. Workshops are available from Go Create!, Belly Dance Earth & Sky, Luna Beams and the Squeaking Tribe Marionettes. Lily’s Kids Explosion offers free entertainment for children including a jumping castle, face painting, kids craft workshops, kids play craft table and giant lawn games.
On Sunday, head to The Commercial Hotel, Walcha for a recovery lunch from 12 pm with live acoustic music from the Grimm Brothers, Foundlings and Goldheist.
