
MANILLA’s bid to save to save a local landmark is in the state premier’s hands.
Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson handed-over a letter and petition to Premier Gladys Berejiklian which asked to spare the Manilla railway viaduct from demolition.
In a letter obtained by The Leader, Mr Anderson said we couldn’t “stand by and let a part of our history be destroyed”.

He also handed-over a petition with 433 signatures.
Locals feared the viaduct would be torn-down after safety concerns were raised about the disused structure.
John Holland Rail has said “there are several options for the future of the viaduct” and was working with stakeholders to determine the best outcome.
