It was cool with a light pre-race smattering of rain that made a dubious attempt at settle the dust.
Our new race plates and Division allocations are going to make this a super exciting series.
Stevie Roberts certainly lived up to his race plate and took out the Elite division slipping over the timing line to just get out for a last lap ahead of second place-getter Nick Chisolm and third placed Ben Clark.
In Division A, Steve Mair put in a big effort with only a nine second lead over David Fisher.
It was great to see Alex Day back on the bike following a broken bone, and he dug deep to gain third place.
Connor Noonan's infiltration of the Road Cycling Club is obviously paying dividends on the fitness front as he took out Division B, but Terry Worboys is looking threatening only 20 seconds behind.
Peter Thistle came in third in what is looking like a competitive field with less than three minutes separating the first seven riders.
Division C is also looking hot with Jeremy Deasey taking out pole position, Richard Squires only 21 seconds down and then Ethan McDonald pushing it into third position.
Dirt masters had a bit of a shake up at the top on Wednesday with newcomer Lachlan Butters coming in first and Ben Shaw hot on his tail.
Jock Barwick smoked around the course as always.
He just missed out on getting out for another lap but held onto third.
Our Social Recreation category was a little lonely for Jasper Thistle, but I'm sure we can find some friendly competition and company next week for you.
Congratulations Jasper.

Thanks Eric for a very funky course, and thanks to our volunteers, particularly Kirsty, Mel and Jeff for coolly and calmly registering 72 riders.
See you on Wednesday for 5.30pm rego and 6.15pm race start.
