The University of New England (UNE) has announced a new deputy chancellor.
The UNE has elected former agricultural academic and international agri-finance advisor Geoff Fox to the position, replacing former deputy chancellor Scott Williams, who retired this month.
Chancellor Richard Torbay said Dr Fox would bring a wealth of experience to the role, including a distinguished 27-year career with the World Bank, six years as principal advisor in agriculture at AusAid, adjunct professor of Rural Science at UNE and chairman of the UNE Foundation.
He has a long association with UNE, including starting his tertiary education there in the 1960s.
“Dr Fox is a passionate advocate for education and the New England region and his leadership on the council since his appointment in 2010 has been recognised with this appointment,” Mr Torbay said.
