Central North have started their Bradman Cup campaign with a loss in Bathurst.
Central North came up against North Coastal on the first day of the under 16s competition and opted to bat first after winning the toss.
The regional side was soon made to regret the decision as Adam McGuirk (0), Lachlan Ballard (2) and Isaac Barry (6) fell to North Coastal’s opening pair – Caelan Maladay (4-24) and Aidan Cahill (2-23).
However, the cavalry arrived for Central North in the form of Matthew Lynch (28) and Beau Parnell (24) who took the score from 3-18 to 4-64.

A string of starts followed for Central North from Kaleb McIlveen (16), Jesse Budden (26) and Henry Sindel (16) to help push the score along to 9-154 after 50 overs.
Jack Sylvester (1-31) then provided the early breakthrough for Central North, only for the wickets to dry up after that.
Charles Mitchell (65) Timothy Martin (42*) put on an 108-run stand to hand control to North Coastal.
In the end, North Coastal came away with a seven-wicket win.
