The 35-year-old allegedly punched the window to the station’s front door about 11am on Monday, as he left the building.
Six police gave chase before the man allegedly resisted officers’ attempts to arrest him outside the Tamworth courthouse.
He was subdued and taken inside the station where he allegedly stomped on a senior constable’s foot.
The man is facing charges of malicious damage, resist police and assaulting an officer and has been granted bail to front court later this month.
The window has since been repaired.
