Ten club members qualified and six of those swimmers will head to Sydney to compete.
Monet will travel down with Lexie French, Alex Hayes, Amelia Simm, Connor Roberts, Archie Barnett and Luke Deasey to support and prepare the juniors.
Simm said Monet had played a vital role in the development of the City swimmers.
“I think a lot of the kids have been with our coach [Monet] for a long period of time and they are starting to reap the benefits,” Simm said.
“He came across in 2007, I think. He’s been with us a long time and a lot of the kids started with him when they were 7-8 years old.
“They’ve developed a good relationship, they are used to his methods and having him there for so long offers good stability.”
Simm also said the kids being able to race against each other helped them.
“We have a strong age group around 10-12 years old who compete to a high standard and against each other at training and at local carnivals,” Simm said.
“It’s really good-natured. They compete in the pool but once they’re out, they’re all friends.”
Swimmers aged 10-12 will compete on December 12-13 while 13-18 age groups will race from December 15-20.
