Police have been told the Holden Barina and Nissan Dualis collided at the intersection of Bridge and Hercules Streets about 7pm on Tuesday.
The impact of the crash forced the Dualis to roll once before coming to rest on its side in Hercules St.
A 35-year-old woman, who police said was pregnant, was behind the wheel of the Dualis and was helped out of the wreckage.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken by ambulance to Tamworth hospital for further assessment.
Police confirmed the driver of the Barina was also taken for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police are investigating witness reports the Dualis was on the roundabout heading into Hercules St when the oncoming Barina on Bridge St failed to give way, colliding with the rear of the Nissan.
The Dualis had to be towed from the scene and forced the closure of Hercules St for more than an hour.
Investigations into the crash, which was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, are continuing.
No charges have been laid.
