They were all sitting side by side in class at Tamworth Public School on Monday.
The children had been asked to raid their cupboards and dress up as their favourite book character, and they certainly let their imaginations run wild.
The fun day was all part of celebrations for Book Week, giving the kids the opportunity to demonstrate their love of reading.
The theme for this year’s Book Week is “Escape to Everywhere”.
Along with the dress-up day, the children will be participating in activities organised in the library, with students also performing dramas from their favourite books on a special stage created for the week.
Book Week is organised every year by The Children’s Book Council of Australia.
The Tamworth City Library also hosted a number of school visits as part of celebrations last week.
