The project comes with an estimated cost of $600,000 with a suite of new infrastructure pegged for 27 locations in the Tamworth CBD.
Council will vote whether to approve use of the civil construction reserve as the funding source for the implementation of a 40km/h high pedestrian activity zone.
The zone would be implemented along Peel St, between Hill and Bourke Sts, and along Kable Ave from Roderick St to White St.
The civil construction reserve would cover 50 per cent of costs, while a pending funding request with the Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) would cover the remainder, if successful.
More to come.
