OXLEY police have charged a man following an accident which killed a man near Tamworth last week.

Police and emergency services were called to reports of a single car accident on the New England Highway, 25km South of Tamworth, on Tuesday July 19.
About 3pm a Peugeot with four occupants onboard rolled, leaving them trapped. A 73-year-old man, who was the front seat passenger, died at the scene.
On Wednesday, police attached to the Oxley Crash Investigation Unit charged the 64-year-old male driver with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death and cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle.
The man is expected to appear in Tamworth Local Court on August 22
