Tamworth selectors Chris Crowell, Terry Murphy and Tom Kellett had “two and half teams” of nominations to choose from, Tamworth Vets secretary David Head said.
“We have entered a team in Division 1 and Division 2 as well as a composite team in Division 2 which includes excess players from the two Tamworth squads and available players from other regions,” Head said.
“It ensures everyone gets a game.”
The October 18-22 State Carnival is split into two divisions, eight in Division 1 and six in Division 2.
Tamworth’s Division 1 team will be skippered by Chris Crowell while Ron Farrell captains the Division 2 team.
The State Carnival is also a stepping stone to selection in State teams for the national titles which will be held in Hobart during November.
Tamworth has a large number of State representatives at Veteran level with the likes of Albie Barwick, Bob Haling, Peter Virgen and Doug Truman all representing Australia.
