A woman has been charged over the alleged attempted murder of a teenager in Tamworth last night.

Officers say , a 17-year-old girl went to a friend’s unit on Queen Street, where a number of people were present.
Police have been told a verbal altercation ensued between the girl and a 19-year-old woman, before the older woman smashed a window at the premises and left the scene.
A short time later, it will be alleged the pair were involved in a physical altercation outside the building, when the teenage girl suffered a stab wound to her abdomen.
Emergency services attended and the 17-year-old girl was treated at the scene by Paramedics, before being taken to Tamworth Hospital where she underwent surgery.
She remains there in a stable condition.
The 19-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
She has been charged with attempted murder and appeared in Tamworth Local Court today where she was refused bail, with her next court date yet to be determined.
