About 2.10am on Wednesday, October 22, police responded to reports of a car ramming through the front of a bottle shop on Beach Street.
It is alleged two intruders stole alcohol and a cash register from this premises.
Twenty minutes later, police received reports of a similar incident at a service station on Solitary Island Way.
There, two males allegedly threatened the console operator with knives before leaving with cash and cigarettes.
Following inquires by detectives from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command, a 20-year-old man was on Thursday charged at Tamworth Police Station in relation to this incident.
The man was remanded in custody charged with aggravated robbery armed with offensive weapon; aggravated break; enter and steal; steal motor vehicle; and larceny.
He is due to appear in Tamworth Local Court on December 9, 2014.
The investigation continues.
