The group were intending to go to the eastern side of Walcha and visit New Country Swamp and the Apsley Falls to have a barbecue however due to the inclement weather on the eastern side during that week Walcha Community Care coordinator Cathy Noon decided to reschedule the eastern side trip to another month and head west to where the sun was shining.

“The numbers attending the trip that day was down as members decided not to go due to the weather conditions,” said Cathy.
“Those people that did take a chance and trust my judgment had a fantastic day at the Lake Keepit State Park soaking up the sun’s rays and enjoying a fabulous barbecue that Ron Denham cooked for us all.”
After leaving Lake Keepit the group travelled home through Manilla and the back roads through Moore Creek.
“Everyone really enjoyed the scenery and for many of them, a new experience as they had not seen the country along the route we had taken,” said Cathy.
