Ms Parry is employed by Joblink Plus at Inverell and was named the VET trainer/teacher award winner at the 2014 NSW Training Awards helds in Tamworth recently.
The judges said Ms Parry stood out as a woman whose passion for the community services sector extended to her personal involvement in community activities.
“Hannah has worked in the community services area for over 20 years prior to becoming a trainer and assessor with Joblink Plus,” they said.
“She’s developed invaluable skills, knowledge and experience delivering training in the aged care, disability and community services sectors.
“Hannah has experience in integrating numerous relevant classroom scenarios that fully complement the course competencies and learning materials.
“Her passion and dedication as a trainer to support her students brings a personal touch to the realities of working in the aged care and disability sector.
“She strives to maintain industry knowledge and works diligently with disadvantaged learners to achieve a high completion rate in all her courses.”
Ms Parry also supports groups assisting children with autism, partners with dementia and companions for the elderly and frail.
“Hannah believes a successful trainer teaches from the ‘heart as well as from the head’,” judges said.
“She gains the trust of her students and is continually rewarded when they complete their qualifications and gain employment.”
