A man has been arrested following a shooting incident at Narrabri last week.

About 6pm on Sunday May 4, a 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were involved in an argument at a home on Purcell Drive.
It’s alleged during the fight, the man discharged a rifle towards the woman’s legs, however the bullet missed and she was not injured.
Police from Barwon Local Area Command were notified and attended a short time later; however the man allegedly fled the scene.
The following day, police obtained an arrest warrant for the 29-year-old man.
About 10.30pm on Saturday, police arrested the man on the corner of St George and Yarouah Streets at Mungindi.
He was taken to Mungindi Police Station where he was charged with discharge firearm intending to cause grievous bodily harm; possessing a loaded firearm, not keeping a firearm safely; carrying a firearm in a manner likely to injure a person; possessing a shortened firearm without authority; shortening a firearm without a permit, possessing ammunition without authority; common assault; and contravening an apprehended domestic violence order (ADVO).
The Narrabri man was refused bail and appeared before Moree Bail Court yesterday where bail was further refused.
He will appear in Moree Local Court again today.
