Close to 4000 people are expected to frock up and party down for the city’s premiere fashion event of the year.
Tamworth Jockey Club president Tim Coates said the stage was set for one of the biggest Cup days on record.
“The weather looks sensational, the track’s in great order and the surrounds are in fantastic order,” Mr Coates said.
“Like all country cups, it’s a great way for the community to come together and celebrate, especially on the back of an Anzac weekend.”
Mr Coates described the field for the $80,000 Tamworth Cup as the best he had seen in a decade.
The off-track action promises to be every bit as fierce, with four categories in the popular Fashions on the Field.
Face painting and a roaming clown will keep the kids entertained, while a wide array of food and drink will be available for purchase.
The eight-race card kicks off at 12.25pm and gates open at 11am. Entry is $15.
Buses will be running from several local hotels to the event.
Tonight will see the second staging of the Tamworth Cup calcutta at the Tamworth Jockey Club.
