TAMWORTH showed its love for Dolly Parton last night as they packed TRECC to capacity.
The country queen opened with Baby I’m Burning, and the crowd went wild as she commanded the stage resplendent in a white dress with a sequined and diamanté-studded bodice.
The Country Music Capital was the final Australian show added to her Blue Smoke tour, but it didn't affect the city’s enthusiasm for tickets.
Neither did last night’s heavy rain.
As Dolly fever gripped those at TRECC last night, some fans even attended the show dressed up as Dolly in replica wigs.
The welcome from Tamworth started before the show, with some fans waiting south of Tamworth for her big black tour bus to roll into the city, and others pacing the fence at the back of the venue, hoping for a glimpse of the star.
