AUSTRALIA Day always has a country flavour in Tamworth, obviously, but this year the 7pm concert in Toyota Park will be headlined by our top sister act, The McClymonts.

The Golden Guitar winners said Tamworth felt like a second home to them, so they were very happy to be spending an extra day to celebrate Australia Day with the city.
“We’re so excited,” youngest sister Mollie McClymont said.“Usually we go home the day after the Golden Guitars, but this time we’ll just be celebrating with everyone else.”
Mollie said they had some special Australian covers planned for the day, including songs of the Little River Band.
The sisters have had a successful festival, with a soldout show at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre and plenty of appearances throughout the 10 days.
“We were running off our feet,” Mollie said.
The McClymonts are no strangers to the Toyota Park stage, having been one of the acts at last night’s Toyota Concert for Rural Australia to warm up the stage for tomorrow’s headlining show.
Mollie said they loved the festival because it was a reunion for country artists.
“I love that everyone’s in the one place, so you can catch up with everyone,” Mollie said. “The Golden Guitars top out Tamworth and we get to see all our friends.”
The sisters are finalists in Video Clip of the Year at the CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia tonight.
“The odds are really against us, but we have missed the last couple of years, due to work coming up, so it’ll be nice just to walk the red carpet and catch up with people we haven’t been able to see,” middle sister Sam said.
“We’ll be surprised and entertained and watch the new music coming through. It does make you feel special and part of the night, but there are so many great artists coming through.”
Other artists on the bill include dual Golden Guitar nominee Mustered Courage, Brisbane-based alternative-country band We the Ghosts, and Bec and the Big River Trio.
