It’s active, wholesome and safe fun, with indoor and outdoor activities for children and teens up to Year 10, run by Trinity Church Tamworth.
Summerfest is a morning event held daily this week and children and teens could turn up on any day, Trinity Church Tamworth pastor Warwick Lyne said.
A total of 155 children participated on Monday.
“It was great,” Mr Lyne said.
Summerfest’s fun activities happen between 9am and 11.30am every day.
The adults aren’t left out, either, with a free cafe (coffee and cake) on site catering for them so they can relax while their children sing songs, do craft and participate in sports.
A creche is available for children aged under four of adults who attend the cafe.
The 12th Summerfest was a celebration of Christianity as much as keeping children active, Mr Lyne said.
He said they were teaching the children to think about the question of “Who is Jesus?”
“It’s an important message for everybody to know and to be aware of,” Mr Lyne said.
It costs $4 per day per child or $10 per day for a family.
