Barwon police have released photos of the 11 (10 pictured above) men and women wanted for various offences in the local area.
Detectives believe some of the wanted people are being hidden and they want to know where they are.
Acting Barwon crime manager Detective Sergeant Brent Falkiner told The Northern Daily Leader police need the public’s help.
“Barwon police are committed to finding these people and putting them before the courts,” Detective Sergeant Falkiner said.
“We’re hoping someone will recognise them or have information which would lead to an arrest.”
Detective Sergeant Falkiner believes the men and woman are still in the local area.
“We believe some of these people are hiding in the Moree area,” he said.
“We want to remind the community that there are offences for people found to be harbouring wanted persons.”
Using Project Eyewatch has been another tool in the belt of local police.
Detective Sergeant Falkiner said the dedicated Facebook page allows community members to stay up to date and help with the search for wanted people.
“Publishing people’s photographs has been a successful strategy in the past for local police,” he said.
“And it’s now made easier with the Barwon LAC Facebook page.
“We believe some are hiding in the local area in the Moree township and we are appealing for help from the community as well as these people to come forward,” he said.
Police say the men and women should not be approached.
Instead anyone with information on the whereabouts of the wanted people should contact Barwon police on 6757 0799 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
