Designer/decorator Tara Dennis, from television show Better Homes and Gardens, also had a great time showing people how to make things out of leftover wallpaper, Mr Dannevig said.
“She really enjoys making stuff and showing people how to make it. She enjoys Tamworth: she likes the town,” he said.
Ms Dennis showed the women how to make coasters and placemats out of old wallpaper ends.
“The ladies totally enjoyed themselves,” Mr Dannevig said.
Six rotating groups were also treated to a cooking demonstration by Tamworth TAFE.
Bunnings staff also talked about the latest Ozito power tools, Dulux’s metallic paint range and brush strokes.
“It was really good: we had lots of hands-on,” Mr Dannevig said.
Even though it’s billed as a free “ladies’ night”, men were also welcome, he said.
But “we do have other workshops and DIY for men”, he said.
On March 7, to celebrate International Women’s Day the following day, there will be another free ladies’ night from 6pm, with Tamworth Leadlights coming along for a demonstration of how to make a leadlight mirror surround.
