Oxley Local Area Command police were called to a Nundle Rd residence about 6pm on Sunday night after reports a man and woman had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Police allege a 35-year-old man was stabbed numerous times following an argument with the teenager.
A 43-year-old woman was also injured, sustaining wounds to her left hand.
Both were taken to Tamworth hospital where the man remains in a serious but stable condition.
The woman, who suffered several stab wounds to her hand was later transferred to John Hunter Hospital for surgery.
Detectives later charged the boy with two counts of recklessly inflicting bodily harm.
The teenager’s case was adjourned to Tamworth Children’s Court on March 12 and he was granted conditional bail.
