The Boars scored six tries to four with five-eighth Adrian Smith crossing twice for the victors as they continued their unbeaten start to the new season.
"We're building, building," Boars captain-coach Ben Williams said.
"It got a bit shaky there after we started well."
The Boars had raced away to an early lead with three good tries before the Roos hit back to trail 18-16.
"We lost Holt Cubis for 10 minutes [sinbin] and the penalty count wasn't the greatest."
However, the Boars knuckled down.
"We scored two tries with 12 men," Williams added.
"That was great. But it was a very physical game. They (Boggabri) showed up and we had to match them."
Boggabri coach Shane Rampling said it was "one of the most physical games I've seen for a while".
"They handled the conditions better than us, out-enthused us.
"They also scored two tries from intercepts, that was 12 points we handed them and then we dropped the ball on their line and they picked it up and ran 100m to score another. In the end our passes didn't stick and they were better than us on the day but it was a very physical game, it was tough, one of the most physical I've seen in Group 4 for a long while."
Rampling thought hooker and captain Matt Gillham was outstanding with backrower Cameron Kerr powering through plenty of work.
"Josh and Didy are a work in progress too," he said of halves Josh Trindall and Didymus Blankett.
"Moree just wanted to win it more."
Prop Aaron Robinson was a big part of that Boar bashing.
"He was unreal," Ben Williams said of the prop.
"Aaron was real good but everyone stepped up today, not just one or two. The whole 17 across the field. That's what we wanted."
He said Jade Girard was also impressive after being a late call up to the bench. Brenton Cochrane and Mick Watton also starred, Cochrane with his electric attack and Watton with his kicking game."
