Club commodore Tom Corben reported a smaller fleet than usual faced the starting line in nearly breathless conditions with a glassy lake.
"The start was won by Mick Bradfield who had a breeze all of his own while everyone else sat on their boats and waited," he reported.
"Robert Kelly managed to head off to the middle of the lake and find some wind."

The Tamworth sailor went on to reach the first bouy with a commanding lead while the rest of the laser dinghies "were bunched and looked for binoculars to find the lead boat".
"Eventually the breeze began to kick in from the south-west and Kelly was run down with only half a triangle to go," Corben reported.
Making the most of the breeze, Bradfield took command of things to take the win (on corrected time) from Corben and Kevin Overton. Kelly was fourth.
There is no racing this Sunday due to Easter but the club will be holding another sailing school from Tuesday (19th) to Thursday. Anyone interested should contact Overton on 0419178817 asap.
Racing then returns on the Sunday with Heat 3 of the Autumn Series.
The club is also soon to collect a trailer-yacht from a Brisbane family to be used for training newcomers to the sport.
The Stoddart-Clipper 21 has been kindly donated to the club by the family of Frederick John Minter. Minter was formerly from Tamworth and a regular sailor at Keepit in the eighties and nineties.
Corben said his wife Fay is very happy that the boat is going to where she feels it belongs.
"The club is keen to have it for future introductions to sailing programs, as a safe more comfortable experience for people who are not as agile as some younger ones," he said.
"Thanks to Fay, Catherine and Garry from all of our club members for their fine gift in Fred's memory."
