The move, which has been initiated by EnergyAustralia with the help of the NSW government and financial technology company Plenti, is designed to make renewable energy a more affordable option.
It will see people have their system selected and installed without cost, and then pay for the technology by simply paying their bills, essentially making it an interest-free loan.
The Solar Plus Plan has been talked up by EnergyAustralia chief customers officer Mark Brownfield, who described the program as a "game changer".
"When it comes to getting solar and batteries it can be hard to know where to start. It can be complicated and confusing - not to mention expensive," he said.
With our Solar Plus Plan we'll do the hard work for you, taking care of the system selection and arranging for the installation," he said.
"But the really exciting bit is that you'll pay nothing upfront, you pay off your solar and battery system over seven years by paying your energy bill.

"We'll make the loan repayments on your behalf from what you pay for your electricity. It's a game changer."
There is some eligibility criteria for those hoping to sign up, with participants having to have a household income of under $180,000, having owned their home for at least six moths, satisfying separate loan criteria, and allowing a check at their home to make sure it's suitable for solar and battery installation.
Mr Brownfield believes there will be plenty of Tamworth locals who will be able to benefit from the program, and said he's excited to see people from the area make the most of the program.
"We think homeowners in the Tamworth region will really love our offer of a solar and battery system with no upfront costs.
"There's lots of households in Tamworth heading into a summer where the air cons running and they're paying big energy bills.
"At the same time their houses are well suited to solar and a battery, so this offer will be just right for them."
