Entries to Kootingal Moonbi Swimming Club's carnival filled over two weeks ago with 180 kids set to compete on Saturday.
"It's crazy. It shows how popular it is," Kooty coach Graham Johnstone said of the carnival.
Of those 180 kids, 48 will be from the Kooty club with the rest coming mainly from around the North West.
The carnival would normally attract swimmers from the coast and the Hunter Valley but clashes prevented that from happening this year.
"It's just so hard to get dates this year with covid and carnivals being cancelled earlier in the year," Johnstone said.
"There's been hardly any spare weekends."
Johnstone said the club may look at holding a two-day carnival in the future but for now were focused on this Saturday.
