O'Grady Drama New England will present it's third annual production, SHOWCASE 2021 directed by Ben Mettam in the Capitol Theatre on Saturday 11 December.
Showcase 2021 features students from across the whole of the New England and is the culmination of all the hard work and fun the students have had in 2021. They will excite and entertain you with the skills they have learnt this year.
Then on December 17 and 18 O'Grady Drama's Senior Performance ensemble will present PRICKLY LOVE.
Prickly Love is a funny and beautifully dark play about clichés and hopelessness, break ups and modern love.
April won't settle for anyone less than hilarious and Matt can't figure out how to say hello. Holly is exploring the secrets of the universe. Harry loves Danny, but just can't quite believe that their office romance can survive and Lila is wondering if a cactus will tear her relationship apart.
In amongst the water cooler lovers and the lunchroom anxieties, runs a deep truth about the difficulty of staying connected, building meaningful relationships and keeping out all the noise, in a very noisy time.
The annual production of The Nutcracker, directed by Kristi Cini and presented by The Studio - Classical and Performing Arts is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. The local dance school will impress you with their discipline, technique and artistry.
The story of The Nutcracker is loosely based on the E.T.A. Hoffmann fantasy story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, about a girl who befriends a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve and wages a battle against the evil Mouse King.
Come and start your Christmas festivities with a beautiful production of The Nutcracker, performed by students ranging from ages 3 - adult and led by local part-time program ballet students.
Performed at the Capitol Theatre on Saturday 4 December at 11am and 5pm, be sure to secure the best seats early.

While Our home, Our stories is the theme for this end of year production from the Tamworth City Dance Academy.
Simply uttering the words "Rural Australia" instantly evokes sounds, smells and colours that are indelibly etched into our collective minds. The bond we have for our home is often conflicted between the safety and comfort we feel in such beauty and the heartbreak and terror that can be realised when her full force is unleashed upon us.
TCDA's dancers and choreographers draw inspiration from the quintessence of Australian rural life, exploring the way that our Community consolidates to offset our physical isolation, interpreting our landscape through movement and celebrating our stories.
Dances from TCDA's Tamworth and Quirindi studios will showcase their talents in classical ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, tap, acro and musical theatre, bringing the stories of our home to life.
Performed at Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Centre on Saturday 4 December and Sunday 5 December at 2pm, get your tickets now!
For tickets to these shows and more you can book online at entertainmentvenues.com.au in the ticket box at the Capitol Theatre or over the phone 67675200.
