Ben Davis was running second in the Hoyt Cup leading into the last round and finished Saturday's comp with a nett 68. This score, one under his handicap, allowed him to take the cup, two shots clear of Harry Edmonds.
The cup winner goes to the player with the lowest nett total for his best eight Monthly Mugs from December 2020 through to November 2021.
Ben's total of 544 gave him an average nett score of 68 for his best eight rounds. Anthony Hyde came in third.

In the Order of Merit, which continues throughout the same 12 months as the Hoyt Cup, points are awarded for all Saturday comps and the championship rounds played on Sundays.
Bonus points are given for special competitions such as Monthly Mugs and the four rounds of the Club Championships. Anthony Hyde was the winner of this year's Order of Merit. Ben Davis came in second, Adrian King third and Harry Edmonds fourth.
Looking forward, the final of the CJW Tree Services Shootout is fast approaching.
It will take place November 21 when 19 players will tee off in the same timeslot.
The third round of the Marquart Jug was also completed on Saturday with two of the four matches providing very close finishes.
Anthony Hyde and Adrian King defeated Corey Borthwick and Rusty Brien while Larry Finney and Dave Worgan accounted for Harry Edmonds and Ben Myler in matches that took 19 holes to decide. The Mills Plate matches were all completed within the 18 holes.
The four pairs remaining in each comp must play their matches by November 28 to decide the finalists of each knockout competition. The ladies completed the second round of their 36 hole 4-ball-best-ball stroke last Wednesday. While they didn't perform as well in this round as the first, Julie McRae and Helen Lockwood finished with a two-round total of 125. This gave them a win for the event.
