Three Armidale residents have contracted coronavirus, with nine new COVID-19 cases detected in Tamworth in the latest update.

A further 73 cases were diagnosed across the Hunter New England Health district.
The region recorded the state's highest number of coronavirus cases, more than double second place Murrumbidgee, with 33 cases.

Some 3017 people have been infected with the virus in the latest outbreak, since August 5.
Lake Macquarie local government area recorded the bulk of the cases, with 19, and Mid-Coast local government area recorded the second-most with 14.
Four of Tamworth's cases were recorded in South Tamworth, one was recorded in West Tamworth and one in Oxley Vale. It's unclear where the remaining three were recorded,
Across the health district, 23 cases were in isolation for their entire infectious period, 42 were infectious in the community and 8 are still under investigation.
49 cases are linked to known exposures or clusters, 16 are unlinked, and the source of eight cases is under investigation.
COVID-19 was detected in the sewage of the communities of Muswellbrook, Inverell, Armidale and Uralla.
Hunter New England Health urged everyone in these areas and beyond to come forward for testing even if they had only the mildest symptoms.
The health district said that even fully-vaccinated individuals can still transmit the virus and should get tested.
The state's latest coronavirus outbreak is continuing to subside, with just 236 cases recorded in the latest statistics, which cover to 8pm on Friday night. Three people died of the virus in that 24-hour period.
The state is increasingly heavily-vaccinated with 93.5 per cent of people aged 16 or older vaccinated once and 87 per cent fully vaccinated.
In the 12-15 year old age group, 79 per cent have had their first dose, and 58.5 per cent are fully vaccinated.
