One of the cases was listed as being from South Tamworth and another was from West Tamworth.
Armidale also reported a confirmed case of the virus. Across the Hunter New England Health district 83 people tested positive in that time, as the state's overall numbers jumped back above 300.
Three people have died with COVID-19 in the most recent reporting period, NSW Health has confirmed.
NSW recorded 304 locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday, with a single case in an international traveller.
The 305 cases mean there are now 418 people in hospital statewide, with 97 requiring intensive care.
On the vaccination front 93.2 per cent of people aged 16 or older have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in NSW.

There were 89,875 tests conducted in the 24 hours.
