Despite Tamworth being lifted from lockdown on Saturday, Tamworth Jockey Club general manager Michael Buckley said he had been advised by Racing NSW on Friday morning that crowds wouldn't be permitted to the meeting.
He said while they would "love to have the public back on course" they "respect the decision", adding that they are "very mindful and feel very lucky and privileged to be able to continue at this time".

He is hopeful of being able to welcome patrons back soon, but at this stage has been given no indication of when that might be. That will be governed by Racing NSW and the health advice.
For now they are "in a bit of a holding pattern".
"[But] we're happy to wait our turn and when we're ready to have them back we'll welcome them with open arms," Buckley said.
In the past there has been a staggered approach, with owners welcomed back first.
That was followed by members and then the general public.
Buckley doesn't know but wouldn't be surprised of they went down that route again.
"That's how things have rolled out historically in the last 18 months," he said.
"That being said we're riding with what the government tells us to do at the moment."
He said it should be a good day's racing with good fields across the seven races.
Among the nominations is Kosciusko-bound Edit. It was confirmed on Friday that the Cody Morgan-trained gelding had been picked up by one of the successful slot holders.
"That's a fantastic result," Buckley said.
Not long after Morgan's hand in the $1.3 million race was doubled with Ice In Vancouver also being snapped up.
