An elderly woman has died, after her car and a cattle truck collided on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the crash scene on the Kamilaroi Highway near Duke Street, Quirindi, about 70 kilometres south of Tamworth, at about 4pm on Sunday afternoon, following reports a Holden Commodore and cattle truck had collided.
The Holden driver, an 86-year-old woman, died at the scene.
The truck driver, a 34-year-old man, was uninjured. He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from Oxley Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.
