A man who fell in with bikies seeking "friendship and loyalty" has been jailed for his role in shooting up the home of another man who allegedly owed the Comancheros $300,000.

Joshua Brennan, 30, drove to a business owner's home at Greenvale, in Melbourne's north, before another man allegedly got out and fired at least six shots from a high-powered automatic gun into a Ford Ranger parked out front.
The businessman allegedly borrowed $50,000 from the Comancheros before they raised his debt to $300,000.
The man had just left the house to pick up his daughter from a party but his wife was at home and survived the shooting uninjured.
Brennan, who was not then an official member of the Comancheros but wanted to become one, agreed to source a car and fake number plates for the March 2018 operation.
The 30-year-old on Wednesday faced the Victorian County Court, where he was sentenced to 23 months in prison without a non-parole period set.
Brennan had earlier pleaded guilty to recklessly engaging in conduct endangering serious injury, making false number plates and possessing the drug testosterone.
Judge Duncan Allen said the autistic father-of-two placed more value on social acceptance than others normally would, something that affected his decision-making abilities and may have influenced his move to get involved with the Comancheros.
He said Brennan found the bikie gang to be an "accepting group" and undertook the shooting because he wanted them to like him.
"After seeking friendship and loyalty you now find yourself in jail facing a significant term of imprisonment," Judge Allen told the 30-year-old.
Judge Allen said Brennan, who has already served 139 days in custody, was now "doing his best" to distance himself from the Comancheros.
