Elsewhere on Wednesday night, Kate Jenner's Hockeyroos booked a quarter-finals berth after beating Japan 1-0.
Baskets by Patty Mills and Matisse Thybulle sealed the Boomers' win over Italy, which followed an 84-67 opening round defeat of Nigeria.

Kay - a Tamworth export playing at his debut Olympics - had 12 points and has averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the tournament.
The Boomers are chasing their first ever Olympic medal, and are among the gold medal favourites. They next play Germany on Saturday night.
After the defeat of Italy, Boomers coach Brian Goorjian said: "I thought we played a much better game of basketball.
"Offensively we moved the ball better, less turnovers, and got better shots."
The Hockeys are undefeated after three matches, having also beaten Spain and China.
They next play Argentina on Saturday morning.
Tamworth export Jenner is at her second Olympics.
