The Kangaroos won "ugly" against Inverell, their co-coach Nathan Vaisey has said, as the ladder leaders extended their winning streak to three matches.

At Riverside 5 on Saturday, Tamworth led from the second quarter onwards in a nine-point triumph: 13-12 (90) to 12.9 (81).

Their nearest rivals, the Swans, travelled to Narrabri and routed Moree-Narrabri 21.16 (142) to 6.7 (43). While Gunnedah upset the third-placed Nomads 18.11 (119) to 9.16 (70) at Wolseley Oval.
Vaisey, among the Roos' best against Inverell, said: "We did win ugly, but we were pretty impressed with the effort the boys showed to stick it out and not let the other team get a run-on."
He sounded a warning to rival sides: "I think we've got a lot better footy in us."
Roos co-coach Ben Mitchell was adjudged the side's best player, with Roos youngster Bill Tydd booting a match-high four goals.
Rhyley Thom kicked three goals for the fourth-placed Saints, who trail the Kangaroos by eight points.
With the Roos enjoying their best season in years, Vaisey said they were staying grounded by "taking it one week at a time".
