South Tamworth along with West Tamworth and Tamworth City bowling clubs are hosting the Inter-Zone Sides Championships this week while the Greenkeepers State Championship Week was held in town earlier this month.
The Champion of Club Champions and the NSW Women's Bowls Championships were both held at South Tamworth in 2019 and Walker said the club would be "chasing hard" to bring more major events to town.
"Every year hosting opportunities come up. You just have to keep your eye out for them," Walker said.
"State pennants, we've hosted in the past and we always like to be a part of that if we can but any event that comes along, we'll have a crack at. It's something we like to do."
Walker said the events were beneficial for the clubs and Tamworth economically.
"I think we're very proactive about trying to get events here. Events are the way of the future and they're good for us. We're chasing as hard as we can to get them," he said.
Representatives from the 16 zones across NSW are in town this week for the senior and open tournaments.
Bowls NSW state president Matthew Goodwin said it was important to bring these types of events to regional areas.
"We have players from right across the state. Here at South Tamworth we have nearly 100 bowlers and there's 200 bowlers competing across the three clubs," Goodwin said on Tuesday.
"Tamworth's very fortunate. It has a number of very good quality clubs and South Tamworth has proven to be a great host for a number of state events from the men's and women's bowls."
