A first-half penalty goal to Harry Pollock and a second-half scrambling effort in front of goal by Darren Desmid condemned Northies to their second loss of the season, in a round four clash.
Mole said South United stuck to the script on Saturday.
"We've got an idea of where we want to head as a team, and we're getting there," he said.
"We're playing our game the way we want to play it."
The end destination for Souths, Mole continued, is to be a high functioning "cohesive unit".

"I've said it right from there start: they're a very talented group of players," he said.
Souths biggest issue, he continued, is their unsettled lineup.
A settled Souths lineup will be "a force to be reckoned with".

It was South United's first win but Mole believes the side's 3-2 loss to OVA in round two was "at least equal to" the performance against Northies, "if not a better".
"There were times of the game [on Saturday] where we still fell off a bit," he said.
"It certainly wasn't a perfect performance by any standard, but it's on the right track."
Pollock, Desmid and Zack McDonald were Souths' best, Mole said.
Elsewhere, OVA remained undefeated with a 3-2 win over Moore Creek, while Tamworth FC beat Kootingal 1-0.
