On Saturday, the No 9 aims to pilot Pirates to a third-straight win to start the season, when they travel to Narrabri.
An apprentice at Single Builders, Sharpe has shaken off the "rust" of the opening match as he looks to orchestrate what he says is the team's running game focus.

Sharpe is entrenched in an outfit chasing a fifth-straight title.
And he's having a ball.
"I'm loving my rugby and I'm loving work at the moment," he said.
"Just living life. It's been good ... I try and keep active."
After a 57-6 defeat of Walcha in round one, Sharpe said he elevated his passing and running game in a 64-5 defeat of Scone the following week.
"This is probably one of the best side's I've been a part of," he said.
Pirates skipper Conrad Starr continues to inspire Sharpe.

"The way he's taken control this year [has impressed], like mentoring the younger boys who are coming through," Sharpe said, adding: "He's taken on a more coaching role."
