The latest update from the State Emergency Service (SES) said the Namoi River has peaked below the minor flood level in the two towns.
But, it warned minor flooding could be possible at Wee Waa at the weekend, as the water makes its way downstream.
The river level could reach 5.3m at Wee Waa early on Sunday morning.

Predictions for both Bugilbone and Goandra will be made by the authority once the flood has peaked at Wee Waa.
A minor flood alert was issued for both Gunnedah and Boggabri on Thursday afternoon.
The SES warned residents to stay away from swollen rivers and storm water drains, and to never drive, walk or ride through closed roads or floodwater.
