A motorbike rider has received serious injuries after accident with a kangaroo on the weekend.

The 60-year-old was hospitalised after the motorbike he was riding crashed into the native animal near Nundle on Saturday.
The accident, on Nundle Road near Chaffey Dam, left the rider with injuries to his head.
At about 12:35pm, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called out to the scene by NSW Ambulance.
The injured rider was treated on scene by both ambulance paramedics the the choppers' Critical Care Medial Team.

He was then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
He was in a stable condition.
