A smaller than normal RSL service will be held at the Sandakan Memorial on Monday, but that doesn't mean it'll be any less meaningful.

At 5pm, about 50 people will gather to speak, present commemorative addresses and lay wreaths in Anzac Park on Brisbane Street.
Invitations have been sent out to those organisations, community groups and residents to whom laying a wreath is important, however the organisers say that this year, other people wanting to remember should do so from home.
President of Tamworth's RSL sub-branch Jayne McCarthy said this year was as important as ever in raising awareness.
"A lot of people don't know about Sandakan," she said.
"And so the service is to commemorate the cost of war."
