Transport for NSW is urging Tamworth residents, and those from all across the surrounding areas, to wear a mask on all public transport despite being outside the Greater Sydney hotspots.

The request is being made of the region's travellers in the same week Health Minister Brad Hazzard said all regional NSW residents should be masking-up.
It would "be safer for you" than not, he said.
A Qantas spokesperson has also told the Leader masks are mandatory on all flights to, into and from Tamworth and the entirety of NSW and Victoria.
That is unless you have a medical condition or are under 12 years old.
"When travelling from and within NSW or Victoria, you'll need to wear your mask as soon as you enter the airport, and also inflight," the Qantas spokeswoman said.
"When travelling to NSW or Victoria, you'll need to wear your mask during boarding and inflight."
With Wilcannia, Orange and other regional areas now urged to get tested after one man's road trip, regional areas are not out of the danger zone.
The NSW Government has updated the Public Health Order 2021 requiring those living in Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Blue Mountains and Wollongong to wear fitted face coverings on public transport.
"While Tamworth is outside of these boundaries, we encourage all customers across the state to wear a mask while on public transport," a Transport for NSW spokeswoman said.
They said residents should refer to the Greater Sydney boundary map to ensure they are wearing a mask where they need to.

The Public Health Order will be enforced by NSW Police.
Transport staff cannot enforce the public health order or refuse a service due to travelers not wearing a mask.
"Transport for NSW will continue to work with NSW Police, NSW Health and operational experts during this time," the Transport for NSW spokeswoman said.
