Dylan Sunderland was in 150th place at the Giro d'Italia heading into stage nine on Sunday, after rebounding from a stage-eight crash that left him "a bit sore".

Ahead of stage nine, a 207km journey from San Salvo to Roccaraso, the Inverell export said the crash on the 200km stage from Giovinazzo to Vieste was "one of the things that happens with racing".

He then said he was "looking forward" to stage nine.
"And hopefully it should be a good day," he added.
Despite the crash, he improved three places in the general classification after a high of 122nd place following stage six.
The 24-year-old, who rides for South African team NTT Pro Cycling, is in his first World Tour race.
Heading into stage nine, he was more than an hour behind race leader Joao Almeida of Portugal - who rides for Deceuninck-Quick-Step.
Sunderland's Italian teammate, Domenico Pozzovivo, was in sixth place - 1min5sec behind Almeida.
Sunderland is in his debut season on the UCI WorldTour.
