Being selected on NTT Pro Cycling's team for the prestigious race is a huge achievement for the 24-year-old WorldTour debutant.

"I'm just so excited to be heading to the Giro for my debut Grand Tour," he told Bicycling Australia.
"I'm incredibly proud and I can't wait to get started with the next three weeks of racing, doing whatever is required of me within the team to make it as successful as possible for the team."
A sense of urgency is now attached to his South African team.
It was revealed this week that the team are searching for a new major sponsor.
Sunderland left the amateur ranks when he claimed a second-straight Spirit of Tasmania Tour in December.
At the time, he told The Northern Daily Leader that becoming a professional was "super exciting".
