Lachlan Skinner, from Tamworth Parents and Friends for Climate Action, said thinking about your kids' future is almost the best thing you can do on Father's Day.
"It's one of the best things you can do - just I suppose getting out and spending some quality time with them [is pretty nice too]," he said.
"But if they want to go to the park take the bike there instead - just watch out for the magpies this time of year."

The environmental group was founded in early 2020. Members held a protest in February.
Mr Skinner, who works at solar company Solahart, said they are planning to ramp up pressure on local MP Barnaby Joyce.
During the coronavirus crisis, direct protest has been "pushed to the side" he said.
The group wants the Member for New England to vote for renewables during the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
"It's just frustrating that I suppose the current government, our local Federal member thinks it's not happening."
