In a statement, Netball NSW Chief Executive Officer Carolyn Campbell said it would be "irresponsible" to proceed with the competitions after receiving advice from NSW Health to 'avoid large, inter-regional championships'.
"Players, coaches, umpires, officials and parents would all be well aware that Netball NSW has held on to the hope of conducting the State Titles in 2020, maintaining an air of positivity that the re-scheduled October dates would enable the competitions to proceed. Regrettably the time has come for us to concede that this won't be possible," Campbell said.

Two of the Tamworth 17s have meanwhile been recognised for their performance during the 2020 edition of the regional league.
For the first time a Northern Inland Regional Team was selected from players aged between 17-23-years. The team was set to play in the Regional State Cup, but the pilot competition has been suspended for 2020.
Olivia Whittemore and Finella Palmer from the Tamworth side that beat Inverell in an extra-time thriller were both selected in the side along with Tamworth open's players Briannah Donaldson and Ella Anderson, Quirindi 17s' Phoebe Porter and Sarah McIlveen, Moree's Claudia Turner and Tyreese Peckham (opens) and Glen Innes' Elizabeth Chard and Emily Burton (opens).
