More than 4400 Tamworth locals have now been tested for COVID-19, but health authorities confirmed there are no known active cases of the virus in the local government area.

Specialised testing clinics being run by Hunter New England Health (HNEH) in three towns have been almost fully booked over the past two weeks.

Data from NSW Health shows more than 630 Inverell locals have been swabbed; 334 at Glen Innes; and more than 300 in Gunnedah since the outbreak of the pandemic.

A new mobile respiratory clinic has hit the road in the North West, treating residents in Gunnedah, Narrabri and Boggabri for cold and flu symptoms and testing them for COVID-19.

There has not been a new case of coronavirus in Tamworth since April 17.

There has been more than 32,000 COVID-19 tests done in the HNEH district.
