The four-year old was impressive as he gave Moree trainer Peter Sinclair a double for the day after Liberty Head had won the second race of the day.
The first emergency for the race - Sinclair learnt he was getting a start at lunch-time on Saturday - he finished four-and-a-quarter lengths clear of Evopex (Jim Jarvis), who pipped second favourite Over and Above (Cody Morgan) for second in a photo.
Formerly with Chris Waller, Sinclair has only had the bay gelding for a couple of months but has liked what he has seen from him. He won first-up at Gunnedah and was then sixth at Grafton, although he was a "tad disappointed" with his run there.
"Obviously he's a nice little horse, we knew that. I just wondered if he would be up to that grade, because that was a pretty strong race I thought on paper," he said.
"But he sort of surprised me a bit, I didn't really expect him to win that well."
Sinclair said he was will ridden by Brooke Stower. From the inside barrier she jumped him straight to the front and he was never headed from there. He was challenged briefly coming into the final corner but after getting a nice inside run he put the afterburners on.
"I knew coming into the corner that we were going to be well into the race because he's a really honest little horse so you knew he wasn't going to stop or pull up," he said.

"But when he kicked away and put a couple of lengths on them it actually did surprise me a bit but I was very pleased."
Stower had early piloted Liberty Head to a win first-up for Sinclair in the Keep Your Distance CG&E Maiden Handicap (1300m).
A new addition to Sinclair's stable, the Lonhro gelding, who he described as "very easy on the eye" was purchased by Warwick and Janice Bull from Godolphin for $30,000 at last month's Tried Horse Sale at the Gold Coast.
"He's a lovely horse," Sinclair told Sky Thoroughbred Central.
"You just buy them from that company and they're a ready made horse."
The $1.60 favourite, Stower settled him well midfield. He then surged through the middle in the straight and held off the challenge from Muwarrad (Dale Riley).
Sinclair conceded it was "a little scary" and said he would have been a lot more confident on the big flat track at Moree, but he got the result.
The double capped off a successful weekend after Sognare won out at Coonabarabran on Saturday.
